 Dad: 

Writing, recording, editing videos for forgifted.org, his platform for publishing some applications of his PhD research.

Mom:

Recording an audio transcript of a book we often reference in counseling. It took a long time to sort out the contract with the author, but now it is all systems go.

PACE coursework

Planning and preparing for a community wide yard sale day May 11

Planning and preparing for a family birthday every 2 weeks for the next two months.

Grace:

Four more university courses of varying intensity and work loads (mostly heavy!).

Jasmin:

Back and forth with Friesen Press in the work of getting her first book published: editing and reediting, layout, cover picture picking, learning marketing, etc.

2 university courses and other informal coursework preparing for co-op in an animation studio in the Fall.

Aiden:

Finishing up his year of school.

All of us (but mostly Aiden and Mom):

Replacing the flooring in most of our house and all the side projects that come with renewing home projects - namely painting and window coverings and...

Oof. Writing it all down, looks like we have a busy Spring/Summer ahead - and perhaps it is a little unbalanced who is doing what :D

Low Key Easter Week

It's been a low key Easter this year

No time to spare for fulfilling the longing

For lovely long joyous celebrations

Don't know what it is about online university -

Easter week as the final week of a semester??!

And yet
We managed to get in our daily meditation and song
Reminding us how Jesus at Easter
Reversed the curse 

And yet
Tuesday we spent a rare day with our friends across the city

(so Grace and Jasmin could take their driver's tests)

Grace is a driver now!

Jasmin needs one more try only, hopefully.

And yet

Thursday evening we hosted a new family for Passover

4 young ones and a mom 

who had never understood quite so well

The very purpose of enacting this meal every year.

And yet

The kids spend Good Friday afternoon

At No Other Name

A long time city-wide annual youth rally

Dad attended when he was in Youth!

And yet 
Sunday evening we all went for our Easter Emmaus walk
Reveling in warming sunshine and pre-spring beauty

Bringing home some bark
Trying out Grace's language
As those in her book world would write

 

And then, other bits of Easter news...

Boots is still delightful but he spent Easter weekend

 Digging under the backyard fence and visiting the neighbor's backyard (thankfully not the ones who are scared of dogs!)

 Acquiring a taste for human food - he ate a plateful of hot cross buns left waiting for a delayed Easter lunch! (Thankfully there was enough time to replace them)

 "Protecting" Mom so much that Dad couldn't even sit beside or even talk to her without Boots interposing himself!
