Though he wasn't patient enough to be still the whole time... and it didn't last long...not even for the play it was intended for.

Family Photo Fiasco Finally Finished

Family photos are never that easy, but this time seemed to require extra tenacity....

But we did succeed in the end!

Experiments and Marshmallows

 Science called for an experiment/demonstration of how blubber keeps sea animals warm in cold water.  After a day's delay while we actually worked at getting cold enough water, we gave it a shot. Messy work!  One glove on, then a layer of blubber (margarine), then another glove.  Aiden was so taken with the gloves that it was hard to persuade him to let us run the experiment long enough!
 

Last week we made it to the beach again for s'mores - this time with friends.  The Mommy's think that the tree was a bigger hit than the treat of making and eating s'mores!

Except with Aiden.  He took it as a very serious task.

Monster Stories from Grace

We have a video of Grace telling a monster story from 2010 at a time when both girls were often busy writing/drawing stories of monsters.  This one is from this week - during another round of monster drawing/stories.     Jasmin is also creating prolifically, but is declining to share - "It's too sad, mommy." was her reasoning of not showing her week-long masterpiece.
